JPG Portraits start as studio portraits of myself made with a digital camera. I make the digital file small and porous by saving it as a highly compressed jpg. This causes the file to lose a great deal of information and rebuild the image from the remaining data. I then use the photoshop 3D module to make a depth map form the the remaining sparse, blocky JPGs. Reducing an images representational information and then rebuilding it using software, emulate the tendency of human memory to deteriorate but then rebuild itself, sometimes inaccurately.
